OUR TOWN (Curtain Players)
Sunday, August 29 2010, 6:30pm

Curtain Players will hold auditions for the Pulitzer Prize-winning OUR TOWN Sunday evening, August 29.

While this play is an American classic and most have seen a production of it before, Curtain Players promises a fresh take (inspired by the current off-Broadway production) that revitalizes the script.

All are invited to audition – prior experience is not necessary.  Curtain Players is looking for an ensemble of actors ages 10 to 90+.  Actors will be expected to read from the script – therefore knowledge of the play is strongly suggested.  Headshots and resumes are welcome but are not necessary.  Rehearsals will begin September 26.   Performances begin November 26.  Responding to interest in this Curtain Players holiday season offering, a special fourth weekend of performances has been added and the final show will be December 18.  All roles will be available except for that of the Stage Manager.

Director Jill Taylor will hold an open discussion of the play on Saturday, August 21, from 1 to 3 PM at the Westerville Public Library, 126 South State Street, to give everyone interested in auditioning opportunity to discuss the OUR TOWN script and the audition process.  Actors will be able to pick up copies of the scenes being used for the audition at this time.  Everyone is urged to attend to meet the director and have your questions answered prior to audition night.

Registration for the audition will be held at 6:30 PM on Sunday, August 29, with the auditions to begin promptly at 7 PM. Curtain Players has partnered with Gallery 202 in Westerville and they will serve as the location and host for our auditions. Gallery 202, Partners in Art, Inc. is located at 38 North State Street in Uptown Westerville. The space is located on the second floor above Amish Originals furniture store.  Free parking is available in many off street lots and along State Street.

There is only one night of auditions. If an actor is unable to attend, a private audition may be scheduled.
